How to Brew Compost Tea

Attach three pieces of plastic tubing the other side of the gang valve, making sure they are long enough to reach to the bottom of a 5-gallon bucket. Attach air bubblers to each of the three pieces of tubing. Step 2 fill cheesecloth with good compost Add Compost Fill a piece of cheesecloth with enough compost to fill 4″ of the bottom of the bucket. Place the compost in the bucket, making sure the three bubblers are underneath. Fill the bucket with dechlorinated water almost to the top. Step 3 aerate compost tea to make an aerobic brew Brew Compost Tea Plug in the pump and turn it on. The compost tea needs to brew for two or three days and should be stirred occasionally. The tea should have a pleasant, sweet odor. When it is ready, turn off and unplug the pump. Step 4 use tea brew as a soil drench Feed Plants To use as a foliar feed, strain compost tea through a coffee filter into a sprayer.

How to Set Up an Elite Mini Aquarium Pump A130

Advances in aquarium keeping technology has made this notoriously difficult division of the aquarium-keeping hobby affordable and accessible to an increasingly large number of people. As a maintenance professional, one of the common issues that I have to address is under-filtered aquariums. I often see small aquariums with a live coral setup, with a filtration system that lacks a protein skimmer.

May 13,  · DIY Wave Maker (for aquarium) Reply to Thread. Discussion in ‘The Projects Forum first I’m not sure how to hook up my “DIP SSR 8 pin”(IC solid State Relay) or timer circuit so you would also need to add a valve of some sort to the pumps which can throttle down the amount of water it moves over time. This would be a way of timing the.

I’ll check into the flow rate. I won’t be pumping water from my pipes, it will be from a 6. Then after the first run I will fill the bucket again with ice water for better cooling than tap. I also suggest getting a quick disconnect to go on top of the pump. Screwing a hose on to it each time was some what of a pita. Awesome, looks like it just has a standard male GHT right?

Aquarium overflow sensor saves your fish and your floors

Unfortunately — for you and the fish — most of these systems fail to address a number of common problems and so they end up on Craigslist or in the trash. And none of them are automated effectively at an affordable price. I set out to build something better: The Aquaponic Balcony Garden can be fully automated, with relay-controlled pumps, and sensors to detect humidity, temperature, soil moisture, and water level in the fish tank.

You can even operate it via the internet.

Air Pump Outlet -> Air Line -> Non-Return Valve -> Air Line -> Air Stone The above diagram should give you more of an idea of what things should look like. The non-return valve is one of the most important things in this set up as it will prevent back syphoning from the .

Even if you already have those numbers, you still have to find a name to trust. Take a look at this water softening systems review list and find the one that best suits your needs. The best water softener for your home could just be hiding among these finds. It uses a special kind of ceramic material that turns these ions into microcrystals that flow along with the water. The only drawback to this great machine is that it may be too expensive for some budgets.

This APEC softener costs more than your average mid-range softener. If you are happy to invest on long-term product for a permanent household, this is one of the best investments you will ever find. That saves you thousands of dollars on salt and utility expenses that you normally incur with other softeners. Check it out on Amazon 2.

Thursday, 31 July Why are livies more successful at attracting predatory fish? In essence, your live baitfish will send out vibrations that indicate it is in distress, which of course, predatory fish can sense via their lateral line; and your livie may even be bleeding slightly directing scent also to the olfactory armoury of a hungry piscatorial thug. Would you love to keep your baits alive longer and reap the rewards of fishing all day or night with energetic live bait?

Step 1 — The Good Gear: In the centre hole, place one cable tie through in a loop that you can use to lift up the lid.

This piece of equipment is easy to install and use, and will cut down on clutter around the aquarium by splitting the output of one air pump into many outlets. Step 1 Attach the base of the gang valve to the outside rim of the aquarium.

Using the videos above for guidance and inspiration, scalvage: Solid door – Or top of computer desk, entertainment center shelves, etc. Aluminum gutter down spouts or corrugated sheet metal, painted black or even some wire screen from window screens. Use the solid door as the base for the project and the glass door as the top. The first thing is, the pop cans probably don’t help all that much.

I suggest corrugated sheet aluminum metal as your first choice, as it has more surface area to strike than than a flat sheet does and it offers two sides for the air to circulate around, since parts of the sheets are bent a bit. You can use a bike pump with the suction plunger reversed to create a hand vacuum pump. The “trick” here will be creating a one-way valve that doesn’t let air back in after you pump it out. It may be as easy as a tube with a clamp.

The other thing is to make sure all the pop can “tubes” are air-tight and don’t suck air from your heating tubes, which will ruin the vacuum.

Here’s what its looks like when its done. This is the Sterite brand “Show off” container. I just drilled a hole through the side and added the drain.

Nov 06,  · Thanks!! i think youre right i tried to create a water pump using the centrifugal theory. using a V dc motor attached to a shaft then to the pump.. it didn’t worked well. the water is too heavy for the motor to make fast RPM. so there is not much pressure to push the water up.

My Touch Interface Aquarium Controller Arduino Grab a beer and a bag of potato chips, because this is one incredibly long post. Sorry, but I didn’t know how else to do it. If you don’t like reading, just scroll down to pictures. This project started out with a relatively small scope, inspired by stilo , which is a touch screen aquarium controller that I stumbled across. I wanted to control power everything including CO2 , dosing pumps, and my Current Satellite Plus lights through a touch screen interface.

That’s when I realized I could make a rich iPhone inspired GUI hence the name iAqua , and that’s when the snowball started rolling down hill.

I am trying to hook up an aquarium filter?

Turns out, it’s not at all. The best part is, my aquarium has been doing so much better since I added this system, mainly because I don’t forget to add fertilizers anymore! It’s a perfect weekend project!

Dec 26,  · This was given to me a long time ago to fix. When I got it the motor was locked up. Some lubrication seemed to fix it.

On this one pool we were opening they had a power flow as you can see here in the picture. The pool skimmer was only a few feet away so it was pretty easy for the pump to draw suction from the skimmer. If the skimmer was further away a Hayward Super Pump would be a better choice. You can see in the picture below that the drain plugs on the Hayward Power Flo were removed during the winter, you will want to screw those back into the pump and make sure that they are tight.

Screwing In The Power Flo Drain Once you screw in the drain plugs into the pool pump as you saw we did above you will want to locate where the pump attaches to the swimming pool filter plumbing. Hooking Up The Power Flo Pump Now, before you put the pump into place you will want to hook the drain plug onto the filter tank first, that way you are not working on top of the pump when its installed. Its way easier to put the drain plug on now, Vs having the pump in that spot.

So you can see here that the pump is not installed yet and the drain plug is going on.

She starts off her latest scene with us by bending over on the white leather sofa and showing off her ass while she pulls her black panties up inside her crack. She is wearing tight denim hotpants but they barely cover her cheeks and she wastes no time in pulling them down to get easier access to her pussy and ass! Her crotchless panties make is even easier for Brittany to gape herself apart and run her hands along her most intimate parts. After stripping naked, Brittany stays in the doggystyle position as she slides a huge pink sex toy inside her ass as far as it will go.

She is clearly experienced in the anal sex department as you see it easily enter her hole!

Home / DIY / Aquarium Plumbing Guide Part I: Basics of PVC & Tubing Part 2 of this series is available here There’s no doubt that the sump is the heart of a healthy aquarium system, and it has been a staple in the hobby for decades, evolving many times to incorporate the new equipment it houses.

May 18, , Not as cold as liquid nitrogen. I think it still would break the tubes Water isn’t naturally cool, it’s temperature is determined by the ambient temp of the environment the water is in and the technique used to cool it if applicable. Anyway, here’s my second shot at reorganizing this post. From your posts it sounds like you’re trying to mix two, completely different forms of cooling.

Any liquified gas such as LN2 or liquid CO2 wouldn’t work at all in a standard water cooling loop. The second is that, well, it’s impossible. Water cooling uses conduction cooling to cool a pc.

What you’ll need when adding sump to existing tank.

Do not use PVC as it softens at too low a temperature causing leaks. When cutting lengthwise, be sure to cut in a single channel for the whole length. Cut the ABS pipe into two lengths, each I picked this width so it would fit between the roof rafters in my attic.

If the power fails, water may drain back out through the air tube and damage the pump or other parts if the pump isn’t above the water level. Step 2 Wash the air tube inside and out with water before using it in your aquarium.

Ask Question Step 2: I used a pair of scissors to carve a hole, simply for the fact that I was too lazy to get out the drill, find the appropriate bit, and put it away, just for one hole. If you have more gumption than I, by all means, go ahead and drill it. Add Tip Ask Question Step 3: This will make it easier to get in the hole on the cap. Add Tip Ask Question Step 4: If you are having troubles, try pulling with a pair of pliers. If you are STILL having trouble, you can shave a bit from the hole with a pair of scissors, or use a larger drill bit.

Add Tip Ask Question Step 5: About inches away from the cap, cut the line in half, and plumb in your check valve. The picture is of the finished project.

DIY CO2 Reactor for a Planted Aquarium

What Does a Sump Pump Do? The simple answer is that a sump pump is built to move unwanted water from one spot to another. In the plumbing world, we use sump pumps and ejector pumps to dewater flooded basements, pits or open excavations all the time. These underground chambers are also common in other places like Toronto or Edmonton. Basements are built below ground under the home.

Oct 19,  · How I do water change for my g Discus tank. Quickly drain 55 gallons in 7 minutes with a DIY PVC hook.

In nature, contaminant which dissolved into water normally exists in the form of ions commonly referred to as salt. This is used as a separation medium between water having two different concentration of salt. Water will generally transfer from the least concentration side to the higher contamination side as equal concentration will give equal pressure.

Applying water pressure to this process is known as osmotic pressure which is commonly referred to as osmosis. Reverse Osmosis filtering process work off the same principle. Reverse Osmosis typically has a membrane style filter that works in the same way as the pig bladder.
